Christopher Johnson has exhibited with leading Galleries in the United Kingdom and abroad since gaining his Master of Fine Arts Degree in 1986. In that year he was taken up by The Everard Read Gallery in Johannesburg with whom he continued to show after his move to Britain in 1989.

Since then he has shown in London, New York, Edinburgh, Sydney, Austin Texas and Venice (where he has also won awards).

Born in 1961, the son of a farmer in Zimbabwe, he grew up in a changing political landscape where the colour and texture of the African scene gave its fundamental influence to his work.

This has transferred itself to his interest in travel and finding the landscape that stirs him: his studio is in Gloucestershire, where he has been based since 1990.

Predominantly a painter of landscape and the figure, his work is internationally based in Private and Corporate Collections, which include De Beers, Hiscox Holdings and Anglo Amercian to name but a few. (Please see CV for a fuller description).
